Nature & Purpose of Position
Title: Development of an Automated Manufacturing System using Open-Source Equipment
The project aims at developing a manufacturing cell that engraves a wood coaster blank automatically once a design pattern is selected. The student assistant will work on integrate various automated systems, such as robotic arms, automated guided vehicles, conveyor belt, IoT sensors, and controllers to achieve the engraving with the possibility to expand/add additional manufacturing processes and material handling.
Other Requirements for the Position
  1. undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical and Electronics & Computer ET
  2. previous experience with single board computer (SBC) and industrial robotics
  3. previous experience with programming SBC, sensors, and graphic user interface
