Position Summary
The Student Assistant will support the accountants and staff in the Grants Accounting Office by assisting with accounting, clerical, and other duties as assigned. The Student Assistant reports to the Grants Accounting Manager.
This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.
Essential Functions
Essential functions include:
  • Post, scan and append journal entries.
  • Assist with reconciliations.
  • Create and/ or update spreadsheets for grants, restricted funds and athletics funds.
  • Run errands within Main Campus.
  • General office duties (copying, filing, etc.).
  • Communicate with and assist visitors when there is a limited staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Knowledgable in basic computer experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Consistent, dependable, and accurate in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Good attitude; self-starter; communicate effectively; motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program

Experience with MS Excel.

Work Hours
  • Monday-Friday, 8 am-5pm, flexible schedule;
  • Max of up to 20 hours a week depending on school schedule
