Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant coaches are charged with the basic responsibility of being loyal to his/her head coach.
He/she is to be committed to the direction of the program, and work towards the same goals set forth by the head coach.
When assistant coaches oversee their own team, they are to adhere to the same philosophies and rules that are expected of a head coach.
Responsibilities:
  1. Assist and support the head coach and work with him/her as directed.
  2. Assume control of the team in the absence of the head coach.
  3. Supervise athletes as directed by the head coach.
  4. Make recommendations to the varsity head coach regarding team members, game plans, and the development of the total program.
  5. Work cooperatively with any other assistant coaches in any task assigned.
  6. Inform the head coach or Athletic Director of any unusual event within sports activity.
  7. Teach the proper fundamentals of his/her sport, keeping safety as atop priority.
