Senior Relationship Manager - Trust Onboarding is responsible for managing the end-to-end onboarding of new trust relationships while serving as a primary point of contact for clients, advisors, and internal teams. This role ensures a smooth, compliant, and high-touch client experience, from initial intake through account establishment and ongoing relationship management.
The ideal candidate combines strong fiduciary knowledge, exceptional client service skills, regulatory awareness, and operational precision, with the ability to thrive in a small, entrepreneurial trust company environment.
Key Responsibilities
Client Onboarding & Account Setup
  • Manage the full onboarding lifecycle for new trust, estate, foundation, and fiduciary accounts.
  • Review trust documents, governing instruments, and supporting materials for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Coordinate KYC, AML, CIP, and due diligence processes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure proper account establishment.
  • Prepare onboarding summaries and account profiles for internal approval and acceptance committees.

Relationship Management
  • Serve as a primary relationship contact for clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, and family offices.
  • Build long-term client relationships through responsive, high-quality service.
  • Address client inquiries related to account setup, administration, distributions, and trust operations.
  • Proactively identify client needs and recommend appropriate fiduciary and administrative solutions.

Trust Administration Support
  • Assist with interpretation of trust documents and administrative provisions.
  • Support discretionary distribution requests, documentation, and approvals.
  • Coordinate funding of new accounts and asset transfers.
  • Ensure accurate account documentation and system setup.

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure onboarding and ongoing relationships adhere to regulatory, fiduciary, and internal policy requirements.
  • Monitor documentation standards, regulatory compliance, and risk management protocols.
  • Assist in audits, examinations, and regulatory reviews.

Process Improvement & Operations
  • Help design, improve, and document onboarding workflows and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and compliance controls.
  • Participate in system enhancements and digital onboarding initiatives.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Legal Studies, or related field (required).
  • 7+ years of experience in trust administration, fiduciary services, private banking, or wealth management.
  • Experience in trust onboarding, fiduciary operations, compliance, or relationship management strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of trust structures, estate planning concepts, fiduciary law, and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of trust administration, fiduciary duties, and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.
