Optim Orthopedics is seeking a full time Workers' Compensation Manager for the Savannah, GA location.
Summary
The Workers Compensation Manager will lead the Workers Comp department in a manner that ensures effective and efficient workflows and processes. The Workers Compensation Manager will lead the hiring and onboarding of all new employees in conjunction with the Senior Workers' Compensation Coordinator. The Workers Compensation Manager will collaborate with executive management and various external stakeholders to strategize growth initiatives and opportunities. The Workers Comp Manager will be familiar with the responsibilities of the Senior Workers' Compensation Coordinator, Work Comp Coordinator and be available to assist in guiding and updating workflow improvement opportunities.
The Workers Comp Manager will ensure that his/ her team members are performing the responsibilities of their job which includes but is not limited to accurately registering patients, providing timely WC/PI appointments for all participating providers, promoting an efficient administrative office, and coordinating pre-certifications and authorizations.
The Workers' Compensation Manager is also responsible for collaborating with various internal departments in the review and scheduling of Independent Medical Examinations, and other record reviews. They will be the key point of contact for external stakeholders requiring advanced assistance. The Workers' Compensation Manager will also be responsible for the collection and documentation of funds for work comp related invoices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manager Specific Responsibilities:
Provides oversight for all operations and day to day tasks of the department.
Lead all department hiring and onboarding in conjunction with the Senior Workers Compensation Coordinator.
Works in conjunction with the Senior Workers Compensation Coordinator to identify and update protocols and processes that ensure efficient department workflows.
Will assist the Senior Workers' Compensation Coordinator in the resolution of internal and external challenges through the identification of process optimization opportunities and solutions.
May be required to work in any section of the department on an as needed basis.
Will collaborate with Optim Work Comp marketing team to facilitate physician engagement opportunities with the Work Comp community.
Will maintain situational awareness of department performance through tracking key performance indicators across multiple platforms and reports.
Will maintain a thorough understanding of Federal, Georgia, and South Carolina Workers' Compensation programs and stay abreast of industry changes and trends.
Will collaborate with participating physician teams to expedite care and address or resolve physician concerns.
May be required to work flexible hours and some weekends.
Maintains area of special assignment.

This position will report to the CEO/ COO. The Workers Compensation Manager will collaborate and communicate with the Workers Compensation Department Team members to ensure optimal workflow and performance is being executed within the department and by all team members.

Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Must possess excellent communication skills to include speaking professionally and clearly. Must have knowledge of HIPAA. Medical office and Workers Compensation experience strongly preferred. Knowledgeable in basic billing functions, basic clinical functions, administrative practices, and operational procedures in a medical setting preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present
information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic and numeric systems.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Computer Skills
