Job description

Home Instead On-Call CNA Caregiver Position Description
For this position, you must have an active CNA license, driver's license, vehicle, and auto insurance. If you don't have these items, you do not qualify for this job.

As a On-Call CNA Caregiver, the employee maintains open availability for the duration of the designated On-Call period, in order to provide Caregiving Services to clients on a fill-in basis. The On-Call Caregiver will remain available during the hours within the designated timeframe. The On-Call Caregiver is expected to be able to arrive at any location within the Service Territory of Home Instead within one (1) hour of notice from supervisor.
For maintaining an open availability during the designated period, the On-Call Caregiver will be paid a retainer of $250 weekly. If the On-Call Caregiver is unavailable or unreachable by phone at any point during the designated On-Call period, the entire retainer is surrendered. For any shifts actually worked at the direction of the On-Call Supervisor, the On-Call Caregiver will be paid at 1.5x their standard wage schedule, regardless of overtime status or number of hours previously worked. HISC can not guarantee any specific number of hours to be worked per On-Call period, as shifts are on a fill-in basis.
The available On-Call shifts are as follows:
6am Monday thru 2pm Wednesday (56 hours on-call)
2pm Wednesday thru 10pm Friday (56 hours on-call)
6pm Friday thru 6am Monday (Weekend premium rate, 60 hours on-call)
Pay Rate
The On-Call wage scale varies depending on which assignments you are sent to, as well as the duration of the assignment.
CNA On-Call rates vary from $27.00 - $43.50 an hour.
Requirements for this position:
- Must be a certified CNA
- Must have a valid WI driver's license
- Must have a personally owned vehicle with the ability to drive to client locations
- Must have auto insurance
- Must be available to work within 1 hour of notice between your designated On-Call time
- Must pass background check
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew, and cleaning solutions
- Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
- Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
- Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
- Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor
