Vantor is looking for a Buyer to join our Procurement and Subcontracts team in Herndon, VA.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

  • Responsibilities involve managing all stages of the direct and indirect procurement life cycle, to include RFQ’s, receiving quotes, development and negotiation of favorable prices, terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders, subcontracts, and other contract types, ensuring consistency with end-user requirements and procurement policies/procedures.
  • Will have autonomy for the assigned area of responsibility and act as professional for company and government regulatory practices and policies for procurement acquisition activities.
  • Purchase order and file maintenance in line with policies and procedures
  • Closeout for all procurement related activities 
  • Ensuring supplier customer management, including negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other contract provisions
  • Confers with suppliers and analyzes supplier's operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules
  • Recommends suppliers based on gathered information and may also recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures
  • Assume other responsibilities as requested in support of departmental goals and priorities

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • 2 years of industry experience with Federal Government Procurement and/or Subcontracting
  • A Bachelors Degree. 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Previous experience in Sourcing roles/Supply Chain roles in a Government Procurement environment with FAR and DFAR experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to actively prioritize projects in accordance with changing targets

  • Experience with Costpoint purchasing system is nice to have but not required

Pay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.

 ● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $86,000.00 - $114,000.00 - $125,400.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
