Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team in Bowling Green, KY. This position is ideal for a surveying professional who is passionate about delivering accurate survey data, leading field and office survey operations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.

The Professional Land Surveyor will play a key role in conducting and overseeing a variety of land surveying activities, including topographic, boundary, and building surveys. This role requires strong technical expertise in surveying methodologies, proficiency with modern survey equipment and software, and the ability to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Survey Operations & Field Work

  • Conduct and oversee:

    • Topographic surveys

    • Boundary surveys

    • Land surveys

    • Building and construction surveys

  • Operate and manage survey equipment including:

    • Total stations

    • GPS/GNSS systems

    • Data collectors

    • Other modern surveying instruments

  • Collect accurate field data and verify survey measurements

  • Ensure field operations are conducted safely and efficiently

Survey Documentation & Deliverables

  • Prepare, review, and maintain survey documents and reports

  • Analyze field data and ensure accuracy and completeness of survey deliverables

  • Review plats, legal descriptions, maps, and survey calculations

  • Ensure all survey work complies with applicable standards, regulations, and project requirements

Project Coordination & Collaboration

  • Coordinate survey activities with engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution and timelines

  • Communicate project updates, findings, and technical information effectively

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance and quality control

  • Verify survey accuracy and resolve discrepancies or field issues

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal surveying regulations and standards

  • Stay current on surveying technologies, methodologies, and best practices

Technical & Office Support

  • Utilize CAD software and related tools to support survey drafting and project documentation

  • Assist with survey calculations, data processing, and mapping activities

  • Support office staff with technical survey expertise and project coordination

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise in:

    • Building surveying
