Lead Building Engineer Job Summary:
The Lead Building Engineer performs building operations, customer service, and community enhancement.ย  Weโ€™re looking for someone who will complete or assist with tasks related to electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and other trades within a commercial building. Daily duties will include working with the property management team to perform preventive maintenance, respond to service tickets, and provide a safe environment for building tenants and visitors.ย  ย ย

PRIMARY BUILDING ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform building and systems inspections, making necessary modifications to building systemsย 
  • Complete Preventive and Corrective Maintenance requests professionally
  • Work with vendors to complete contracted work orders to meet expectations
  • Maintain records, reports, and evaluations, and provide recommendations regarding necessary building maintenance operationsย 
  • Identify and help to order parts, materials, equipment, and supplies that are neededย 
  • Manage Building Management System (BMS) / Energy Management System (EMS) as directed by Lead/Chief Engineer
  • Maintain a clean engineering shop, mechanical plant, mechanical rooms, and general appearance
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Perform related work as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 - 5 years maintaining equipment and systems in commercial buildings
  • Possess demonstrated high-level mechanical skills and abilities with HVAC equipment
  • High-level experience and skills in operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment
  • Basic technology skills necessary to manage work order applications on mobile phone and learn to operate Building Automation Systems
  • High School diploma or equivalent, and must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Occasionally work overtime to perform necessary repairs or maintenance that are necessary to complete during off-hours
  • Must meet the occupation requirements, such as lifting 50 lbs., walking distances, kneeling for 1 hour, and climbing ladders.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must possess a CFC Universal certification
