Job description

Shore United Bank is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager (called Branch Operations Manager internally) to join our team. The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the overall management and operational effectiveness of the branch by ensuring efficient processes, regulatory compliance, and a high standard of customer service. This role partners with the Branch Manager to drive branch performance, support business development efforts, and provide leadership and guidance to branch staff. Serving as a key link between branch operations, customer service, and employee development, the Branch Operations Manager helps ensure the branch meets organizational goals while delivering a positive customer experience. The position plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence, managing risk, and supporting the bank's growth and service objectives.

What You'll Do:

A detailed list of job duties includes (but is not limited to):

  • Supports the Branch Manager in overseeing the daily workflow of the branch.
  • Assists Branch Manager in implementing business development strategies for the branch to achieve goals.
  • Provides loan processing for customers based on loan authority established by Loan Policy; take applications and handle routine inquiries concerning loans, rates, and payment schedules.
  • Makes business development calls to prospective new customers and to current customers to enhance customer relationships.
  • Assists Branch Manager in efforts to reach profit, performance, and customer service goals.
  • Serves as an active member of the branch team by performing all the duties of a Personal Banker, Branch Banking Supervisor, or Branch Banking Specialist as necessary.
  • Provides investigation, analysis, and resolution to customer problems/concerns; assure customer needs are met.
  • Ensures the office is compliant with operating policies, procedures, and outside regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures branch facilities and maintenance needs are addressed.
  • Assists with monitoring branch financial activities, perform audits, reviewing and preparing reports, and managing cash levels for branch.
  • Manages branch operations when the Branch Manager is absent.
  • Prepares and coordinates the scheduling of staff.
  • Monitors, approves, and manages employee timekeeping for payroll.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for positions directly supervise.
  • Keeps personnel informed and updated of pertinent policies and procedures.
  • Meets one on one with the team on a regular basis to develop and mentor staff.
  • Conducts branch team meetings and morning huddles on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrates compliance awareness by completing all required regulatory and compliance training (e.g., BSA, CRA, ECOA) on or before deadlines, and actively supporting all policies, procedures, and practices that promote risk management, safety, and regulatory adherence.
  • Consistently demonstrates the Company's core values and principles through behaviors, actions, and decisions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-time.
  • Exempt.
  • Days of Work: Monday-Friday, with rotating Saturdays (Closed Sundays and all Federal Holidays). As this is a management role, work schedules may vary based on business needs, and additional hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, may be required on an occasional basis to support operational demands and service expectations.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent banking experience.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a branch role with strong knowledge of bank products and services, and working knowledge of consumer and mortgage loans.
  • Prior demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead, manage, and develop a team.
  • Federal NMLS License required, or ability to get licensed following hire.

Compensation:

  • The pay range for this position is $58,656 to $70,000 annually. 
  • Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
