Full-time

Job description

Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq ARWR) is a commercial stage biopharmaceutical company that develops medicines that treat intractable diseases by silencing the genes that cause them. Using a broad portfolio of RNA chemistries and efficient modes of delivery, Arrowhead therapies trigger the RNA interference mechanism to induce rapid, deep, and durable knockdown of target genes. RNA interference, or RNAi, is a mechanism present in living cells that inhibits the expression of a specific gene, thereby affecting the production of a specific protein. Arrowhead's RNAi-based therapeutics leverage this natural pathway of gene silencing.
Arrowhead is focused on developing innovative drugs for diseases with a genetic basis, typically characterized by the overproduction of one or more proteins that are involved with disease. The depth and versatility of our RNAi technologies enables us to potentially address conditions in virtually any therapeutic area and pursue disease targets that are not otherwise addressable by small molecules and biologics. Arrowhead is leading the field in bringing the promise of RNAi to address diseases outside of the liver, and our clinical pipeline includes disease targets in the liver and lung with a promising pipeline of preclinical candidates.
Arrowhead's corporate headquarters is in Pasadena, CA with research and development teams in Madison, WI & San Diego, CA, and a state of the art manufacturing facility in Verona, WI. Our employees are nimble, science-driven innovators who are collaborating to bring new therapies to patients in need.
The Position
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Contracts Analyst or Senior Contracts Analyst to join its Legal Team in Pasadena, California. Reporting to Arrowhead's Contracts Manager, candidates will have the experience and the ability to effectively evaluate, draft and negotiate company contracts on behalf of Arrowhead. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and negotiating skills, be detail oriented, responsive, tech savvy, quick to think on their feet, and be comfortable with making decisions independently based on an analysis of risk. The ideal candidate should be able to see their function within the big picture of Arrowhead's business and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where contracts need to be negotiated quickly and efficiently.
Candidates should have 1+ (for Contracts Analyst) or 3+ (for Senior Contracts Analyst) years of contract negotiation experience, preferably within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, and should have a firm understanding of various types of contract documents with an ability to identify and quickly analyze the importance and potential risks involved with negotiated terms.
This role is full-time onsite, 5 days a week in Pasadena, California.
Responsibilities
  • Draft, negotiate, evaluate and execute a wide range of contract documents to ensure their reasonableness and accuracy, appropriate timelines and deliverables, and alignment with Arrowhead's risk parameters; identify and resolve clauses adverse to Arrowhead's interests.

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on contractual matters, including collaborating with legal and business teams to mitigate exposure through revisions, standard clauses, and compliance checks.
