The FCA Coach serves as both a sports leader and a spiritual mentor, responsible for coaching athletes in their sport while engaging, equipping, and empowering them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.The Coach embodies FCA's vision and core values -- Integrity, Serving, Teamwork, and Excellence -- by developing athletes on the field, investing in their character off the field, and fostering a Christ-centered team culture.
MINISTERIAL DUTIES
These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.
  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.

MINISTRY ADVANCEMENT
  • Utilize the platform of sports to disciple athletes, helping them grow both as competitors and followers of Christ.
  • Lead or facilitate team Huddles, one-on-one mentoring opportunities, and FCA ministry events.
  • Ensure that all team activities -- practices, games, and meetings -- integrate opportunities for spiritual and character development alongside athletic training.

TALENT ADVANCEMENT
  • Ensure the recruiting, training, and developing of volunteers is strategically aligned with the goal of growing the ministry in the Club.

  • Maintain necessary governing body qualifications and certifications required for coaching in the assigned league or program.
  • Support FCA leadership by participating in organizational training, ministry development, and community engagement opportunities.
