Our team is committed to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Position Overview
ESC is seeking a Telecom Estimator with experience in structured cabling and low‑voltage systems. This role supports the preparation of competitive bids, detailed takeoffs, and turnkey proposals for commercial cabling projects involving copper cabling, fiber optic cabling, telecommunications rooms, and associated IT infrastructures. The Telecom Estimator will collaborate with general contractors and project managers to develop accurate and compliant project scopes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for structured cabling systems, including copper cabling, fiber optic systems, equipment racks, and related hardware.
  • Develop project takeoffs, quantities, bills of materials (BOM), and labor/material breakdowns.
  • Assist in creating turnkey proposals and scopes of work for clients.
  • Review and interpret floor plans, riser diagrams, elevations, telecom drawings, and low‑voltage design packages.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, internal stakeholders, and project teams during pre‑construction and construction phases.
  • Utilize Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and industry‑standard quoting tools to prepare accurate estimates and documentation.
  • Maintain organized documentation for cost estimates, proposals, revisions, and client‑ready deliverables.
  • Provide clear communication and coordination with internal teams to ensure alignment of project requirements and expectations.
  • Manage multiple estimating assignments simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Update and maintain internal pricing, material databases, and vendor cost inputs.

Technical Expertise:
  • Familiarity with commercial structured cabling standards (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber).
  • Understanding of network racks, cable pathways, cable management hardware, and data room buildout requirements.
  • Experience preparing telecom takeoffs using Bluebeam or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of BICSI standards and industry best practices.
  • RCDD, BICSI Installer/Technician, or OSP certifications are a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in estimating structured cabling/low‑voltage projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, telecom floor plans, and low‑voltage system diagrams.
  • Proficient with estimating tools, Bluebeam, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting/design tools.
  • Familiarity with datacenter infrastructure or commercial IT buildouts.
  • Prior exposure to structured cabling installation or field work.
