Job Title:ย Bishop Noll Institute is seeking an experienced, motivated, and faith-driven Assistant Athletic Director to help lead its Athletic Department. The ideal candidate will promote Catholic values, develop student-athletes and ensure the growth and success of the athletic department.ย 

Job Overview: The Assistant Athletic Director will assist in the leadership, coordination, and daily operation of the Bishop Noll Institute athletic department.ย  The Assistant Athletic Director supports the Athletic Director and fulfills assigned building-level administrative duties to support overall school operations.ย ย 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Athletic Director with the overall administration and daily operation of the athletic department.
  • Support the scheduling, coordination and supervision of athletic contests, tournaments and events through Eventlink and IHSAA website.
  • Assist with the hiring, onboarding, supervision and professional development of coaches.
  • Coordinate with game workers and volunteers (officials, ticket takers, student workers) and track service hours.
  • Supervision at athletic events and activities.
  • Promote a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, respect and excellence among student-athletes and coaches.
  • Help ensure compliance with school policies, conference and IHSAA requirements.
  • Coordinate communication with coaches, student-athletes, families, officials and visiting schools.
  • Assist with athletic facilities, equipment, uniforms and inventory.
  • Help coordinate transportation and logistical needs for athletic teams and events.
  • Support athletic department budgeting, purchasing and financial processes as assigned.
  • Submit official rosters to the IHSAA and ensure all coaching staff are certified.
  • Coordinate uniform orders in accordance with established rotations; collect uniforms post-season and assign student charges as necessary.
  • Assist with the operation of the Warrior Shop: manage store hours, sales, and inventory.
  • Assist with management and operations of concession stands.
  • Coordinate Student Athletic Council by selecting members, set meeting agendas and facilitate meetings.
  • Monitor the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes, working closely with teachers and counselors to support academic success.
  • Support college signing events, scholarship nominations and hosted tournaments.
  • Collaborate with the parent booster club and community partners to support fundraising and program development.
  • Assist with athletic awards programs, coaches meetings and parents meetings as needed.
  • Make recommendations for improvement of athletic programs and facilities to the Athletic Director.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of athletic handbooks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Requirements:

  • Experience in athletic or sports management, particularly in a high school setting.
  • Knowledgeable of IHSAA bylaws, policies and procedures.
  • Detail-oriented, energetic and enthusiastic about promoting education-based athletics.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with teenagers, coaches, parents, faculty, administrators and community members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and school breaks.ย ย 
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions depending on the sport.
  • Participate in pre and post season meetings with the Athletic Director.
  • Assist in promoting good sportsmanship to our coaches, student-athletes and fans.
  • Maintain confidentiality and a commitment to ensure the safety, security and well being of student athletes by following all school policies and procedures.
  • Must be familiar with emergency protocol and procedures with the ability to respond promptly and appropriately.
  • Make recommendations for improvement of athletic programs and facilities to the Athletic Director.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds and able to drive 15 passenger vans.
  • Willingness to support and model the school's Catholic identity of Mind, Body and Soul philosophy.
  • Must complete the Virtus training and undergo background screening.
