About Coventry Church

Coventry Church is a Christ-centered, multigenerational congregation serving northern Chester County for over 300 years. Our vision is to be a ChristCentered Family of Faith, practicing oneanother love, from generation to generation (Matt 22:37; John 1:12; John 13:34; Psalm 145:4).

We are seeking a fulltime Associate Pastor of Family Ministries who will help our Family of Faith:

  1. GROW faithful disciples,
  2. CONNECT within the church and community, and
  3. SHARE the Good News of Christ.
 

Primary Responsibilities

1. Grow Faithful Disciples (Approx. 65%)

  • Strengthen and support Coventry’s discipleship and Christian education ministries.
  • Provide leadership for youth ministry (7th–12th grades), including planning, communication, and leading weekly gatherings.
  • Provide leadership for children’s ministry (PreK–6th grades), including Junior Church, Coventry Kids, Venture Wednesday (55–75 children), and VBS (75–100 children).
  • Recruit, equip, and encourage lay leaders and volunteers.
  • Support youth, children, and parents in spiritual growth and engagement.
  • Research and implement Christcentered curriculum with a cohesive scope and sequence.

2. Connect & Communicate (Approx. 25%)

  • Strengthen connections within our congregation, with neighbors, and with ministry partners.
  • Assist with digital engagement and social media communication; collaborate with staff to maintain a current, effective church website.
  • Work closely with the Sr. Pastor, Christian Education Commission, and Deacons on vision, strategy, and smallgroup ministry.
  • Preach 2–4 times per year and assist regularly in worship leadership.

3. Share Good News (Approx. 10%)

  • Help mobilize believers of all ages for mission and service (local and global).
  • Provide pastoral care that encourages, equips, and supports the church family.
 

Qualifications

Required

  • A man who meets the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:6–9, and demonstrates the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23).
  • Passion for God, His Word, and helping people grow in faith.
  • A servant’s heart (Romans 12:9–13) and love for the local church (1 Peter 5:1–4; 2 Tim 2:15).
  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or a related field.
  • Strong relational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to become an active member living within 30 minutes of the church.

Preferred

  • Seminary degree (MDiv or equivalent) and/or training in education.
  • 1–5 years of ministry experience (recent college or seminary graduates also are encouraged to apply).
  • Experience leading youth and/or children’s ministries.
  • Familiarity with social media and digital communication tools.
  • Exposure to or openness toward Anabaptist faith and practice.
 

Compensation

$40–55K salary range, plus benefits including housing allowance, insurance, pension, and professional expenses.
