ASSOCIATE CAMPUS PASTOR SPRING BRANCH  - Job Description


The Associate Campus Pastor – Spring Branch is responsible for assisting the campus pastor in the oversight and shepherding of the congregation.  This will involve, in addition, the direct oversight / responsibility for  adult discipleship ministries -  Community Groups, Men’s, Women’s, Young Adults -  at the local campus.

This role operates under the leadership of the Campus Pastor.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Campus Pastor in casting and implementing the vision for the campus through personal involvement in the lives of the Spring Branch staff and congregation.

  • Support the campus pastor in shepherding the Spring Branch congregation.

  • Lead initiatives that promote the health and growth of the congregation.

  • Identify and develop people for ministry leadership.  Equip the ministry leaders to be effective shepherds in their areas of ministry

  • Assist the campus pastor in overseeing and facilitating the weekly worship services

  • Maintain a presence at scheduled church activities, and generally among our people

  • Oversee assimilation programs at church including Connect

  • Oversee campus based classes or trainings

  • Help develop and nurture the congregation toward discipleship. Ensure quality leadership of the specific ministries listed under Adult Ministries

  • Supervise the vocational ministry leaders who are direct reports, providing the necessary administrative leadership.  Ensure that the programs align with the vision of the church.

  • Provide operational leadership that includes establishing clear goals, managing staff performance, and improving processes and practices.

  • Build, lead, and maintain necessary volunteer teams in the assigned ministry areas

  • Exercise teaching gifts as necessary

  • Oversee the annual budgets of the specific ministries listed under Adult Ministries

  • Assist the Campus Pastor with broader pastoral responsibilities or other duties as assigned and required

Requirements

  • Well-rounded giftedness in teaching, shepherding, and leadership

  • 5+ years of experience leading ministry as a vocational minister

  • Demonstrated experience in effective ministry leadership

  • Satisfies elder qualifications according to the scriptures (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9)

  • Agreement with Bayou City Fellowship’s Doctrinal Statement and distinctives

  • Desire and ability to make a long-term commitment to Bayou City Fellowship

  • Undergraduate degree (required); Seminary/Masters preferred.
