Job Description

The Area Manager is responsible for providing managerial oversight and operation of a segment of group homes.  This position is also responsible for personnel, program, coordination of services and supports and the maintenance of high-quality service and supports to vendors, persons served and other stakeholders. 

Responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to: 

  • Monitor and ensure that services are in compliance with licensure and regulation standards. 
  • Management/supervision of all personnel in designated area of responsibility. This role also provides indirect supervision for Direct Support Professionals. 
  • Coordinate staff training in licensing, and county standards, state standards, fire code and Medicaid regulations. 
  • Provide initial orientation and ongoing training for employees to assist them in developing and maintaining services and supports 
  • Provide oversight to process of ISP development 
  • Actively monitor overall staff-individual served interactions, individual served involvement in the community, home atmosphere, level of person-centered planning, and individuals exercising choice in their lives 
  • In conjunction with the Senior Director/State Director, be responsible for the budgetary/fiscal components of the programs 
  • Assume a leadership role in the development and implementation of organizational philosophy, policies and procedures 
  • Responsible for growth of the program and referrals. 
  • Promote a positive and professional attitude to others. 
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, certification and regulatory standards for all services provided under the assigned case load. 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is a requirement of the role  
  • Must have prior management /supervisory experience 
  • Prior experience providing support and services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or developmental disabilities preferred pr part of the long term care system 
  • Must possess sound decision-making and communication skills; be responsible, professional, and flexible. 
  • Good communicationis key in this role.You'llrely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
