McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago
is seeking a skilled and dependable Experienced Journeyman Automotive Technician to join our award-winning service team. We are looking for a professional who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, excels in advanced diagnostics and repairs, and is committed to providing an exceptional customer experience.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, test, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on Acura, Honda, and other makes and models.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs involving engines, transmissions, drivability, suspension, steering, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Complete comprehensive multi-point vehicle inspections and communicate repair recommendations to service advisors.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance in accordance with Acura manufacturer standards, dealership policies, and safety procedures.
  • Accurately document repair orders while maintaining high-quality workmanship and efficiency.
  • Mentor and assist apprentice and entry-level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with service advisors, parts personnel, and fellow technicians to ensure efficient workflow and outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current with Acura technology, factory training, and ASE certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive repair experience required; journeyman-level experience preferred.
  • ASE certifications preferred.
  • Acura or Honda dealership experience is a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently perform complex repairs.
  • Proficiency using factory diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and service information.
  • Strong attention to detail, productivity, and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced shop environment.
