Job description

Girgis ENT is a well-established multispecialty practice committed to providing comprehensive ear, nose, and throat care to patients of all ages. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team and help us deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment for our sleep department . As a medical assistant, you will work along side the sleep medicine physician to assist with history and vital intake along with an array of other clinical and administrative responsibilities including scheduling, benefits verification and prior authorizations. It's a fast paced environment but clearly desires to always do what's best for the patient. We are family-oriented and enjoy serving our patients to the best of our abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Interviews patients to obtain a medical history, confirms present medications and allergies, measures vital signs, documents height and weight
  • Obtain PAP compliance and previous sleep study results for consults
  • Coordinate patient care, including generating orders and referrals, obtaining test results, and scheduling follow-up visits
  • Document patient information in the EMR accurately and promptly
  • Communicates with providers and provides feedback and answers to patient, physician, pharmacy or hospital.
  • Run eligibility and benefits verification for all sleep related services including HST, In lab, consults and DME
  • Obtains necessary authorizations for testing and supplies
  • Manage DME list confirming patient is eligible to receive supplies, scheduling annual follow ups and updating insurance as needed
  • Helps educate and distribute HSTs to scheduled patients
  • Packing and shipping DME supplies to eligible patients

Requirements
  • Previous experience in Pulmonary, Sleep or DME preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Modmed (EMA) experience a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • BLS/CPR certification required (or must obtain within 30 days)

Salary Description
Starting at $20 per hour
