Job description

Summary
The Hand FinishTechnician is responsible for performing precision deburring, blending, andfinishing operations on aerospace components to ensure surfaces and edges meetstrict engineering and quality standards. This role is vital in maintaining thehigh levels of detail and accuracy required in the aerospace industry,particularly for components used in flight-critical assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and analyze machined aerospace parts for burrs, sharp edges, and surface irregularities using magnification tools and blueprints/specifications.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, and other imperfections using hand tools, abrasive wheels, stones, scrapers, small power tools (e.g., Dremels, grinders), and polishing equipment.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, engineering specifications, and process sheets to ensure conformance.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and high cosmetic standards as per aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and surface finishes.
  • Perform in-process and final deburring operations in collaboration with machinists, inspectors, and engineers.
  • Document work completed and maintain traceability according to company and industry standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, ensuring tools and workspaces are maintained in good condition.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned
