Quality Technician Lead (Deburring Inspector Lead)

Crissair is looking for an experienced Quality Technician Lead (Deburring Inspector Lead) to join our Machine Shop! The Deburring Lead will be responsible for inspecting and leading deburring technicians in all types of precision machined aerospace parts per blueprint and work order instructions and ensuring jobs are being ran in the correct order by using our MRP system to obtain reports.

Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience. Base hourly rate range Minimum $26.00 - Maximum $32.00

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run Dispatch Reports to ensure jobs are being ran on time in the deburring and lapping area.
  • Report any metrics and any delays/issues to managers.
  • Assist in any projects assigned by department manager.
  • Responsible for training new team members on deburring requirements and processes.
  • Responsible for the creation of deburring aids, the implementation of specialized tooling (where needed), cycle times and process improvements, and identifying any fixture needs for the deburring and lapping area.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area by implementing a 6S environment.
  • Oversee the deburring various metal parts using stationary abrasive wheels, handheld rotary air tools, drill presses with wire brushes and burr cutters, in addition but not limited to and hand scraping devices.
  • Inspect critical dimensions to ensure components adhere to blueprint specifications.
  • Verify compliance and buy off corresponding inspection operation of finished hardware with drawing requirements based on shop practices as they relate to unfinished hardware (e.g., dimensional and visual verification of machined areas, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and conform to internal company procedures.
  • Perform simple mathematic calculations.
  • Ability to effectively inspect product using a broad range of inspection tools, which may include, but are not limited to, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, optical equipment, etc.
  • Use quality-related software and ERP to appropriately record assigned job results based on
  • Have working knowledge of raw materials, casting, forging layouts, and internal/external thread inspection.
  • Required to mentor deburr Technician.
  • Ability to assess potential nonconformances prior to beginning deburring process.
  • Ability to evaluate product requirements without direction.

Qualification Requirements

  • Education/Experience
    • Required: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 3-5 years prior precision deburring experience with lead/supervisory experience.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university, and 3-5 years related lead/supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills
    • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
    • Preferred: Strong command of both English and Spanish, including written and spoken communication.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of supervisors or employees.
  • Math Skills
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Skills
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
