Data Center Safety Administrator

Reports To: Project Safety Manager / EHS Manager

Location: Project Site (Data Center Construction Project)

Position Type: Full-Time


Position Summary

The Data Center Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting project safety operations through document control, compliance tracking, onboarding administration, training records management, and contractor safety documentation. This position serves as the administrative backbone of the site safety team and is primarily office/trailer based.

The Safety Administrator works closely with project safety personnel, superintendents, subcontractors, and project management to ensure all workers are properly enrolled, trained, documented, and compliant with project safety requirements.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, computer proficient, and comfortable managing large volumes of documentation in a fast-paced construction environment.


Primary Responsibilities Contractor & Employee Onboarding
  • Coordinate and process all new worker onboarding requirements.
  • Verify required certifications, licenses, OSHA credentials, and training documentation.
  • Maintain worker enrollment records and site access documentation.
  • Assist with badging, orientation scheduling, and onboarding logistics.
  • Support project-specific orientation and site access requirements.
Safety Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain safety files for all project personnel and subcontractors.
  • Track and organize:
    • OSHA certifications
    • Training records
    • Fit testing records
    • Equipment certifications
    • Site-specific training documentation
    • Competent person documentation
  • Ensure documentation remains current and audit-ready.
  • Monitor expiration dates and notify project teams of upcoming renewals.
JHA / Permit Administration
  • Review submitted Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for completeness.
  • Collect and maintain daily JHAs from subcontractors.
  • Track permit-required activities including:
    • Hot work permits
    • Confined space permits
    • Excavation permits
    • Energization permits
    • LOTO documentation
  • Maintain project permit logs and filing systems.
Safety Reporting & Data Management
  • Enter and maintain safety data in project tracking systems.
  • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
  • Track:
    • Headcount
    • Orientation metrics
    • Training completion
    • Safety observations
    • Near misses
    • Incident documentation
  • Assist with project safety scorecards and KPI reporting.
Audit & Inspection Support
  • Organize documentation for client audits and safety inspections.
  • Assist site safety leadership with audit preparation.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy safety records.
  • Ensure project files remain organized and accessible.
Project Administrative Support
  • Assist Safety Managers and Safety Officers with administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate meetings and maintain attendance records.
  • Prepare agendas, sign-in sheets, and training documentation.
  • Support project communication between field personnel and safety leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of administrative, safety, construction, or project coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including:

  • Strong data entry and recordkeeping abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Data center or mission-critical project experience.
