Position Title: Assistant Professor of Accounting
Location: Jamestown, North Dakota
Employment Type: Full-time, 9-month faculty position

FLSA Status: Exempt
The University of Jamestown seeks a full-time faculty member to join our team in the department of Business, Accounting, and Economics on campus in Jamestown, North Dakota. We are searching for candidates who are enthusiastic scholar-educators, who are student-oriented, and who have a passion for teaching. The position will begin in the fall of 2026.ย  Relocation assistance is available.
About the University of Jamestown:
The University of Jamestown (UJ) is a private, liberal arts university founded in 1883, committed to providing a student-centered education that combines academic excellence with professional preparation and personal growth. Located in Jamestown, North Dakota, UJ offers a close-knit community with small class sizes, modern facilities, and a strong emphasis on holistic student development.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include on-campus teaching of a variety of accounting courses, depending on departmental needs and faculty interest and expertise. Courses include, but are not limited to:
  • Principles of Accounting
  • Income Tax Accounting
  • Intermediate Accounting
  • Government/Not-for-profit Accounting
  • Auditing
  • Advanced Accounting
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students, including internships and career preparation
  • Participate in departmental, school, and university service (e.g., committee work, program development, community engagement)
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives, particularly with our Master of Business Administration program
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masterโ€™s degree in accounting or business administration.
  • Candidate must hold the CPA credential.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Additional professional designations (CMA, CIA).
  • Teaching experience at the higher education level.
  • Significant professional experience in public or managerial accounting.
