Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Houseperson plays a supportive our housekeeping and front desk operations. This hybrid role is critical in ensuring a clean, organized, and guest-ready environment throughout the property while also providing crucial backup coverage for basic engineering tasks and guest service requests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain cleanliness and order in all guest hallways and public areas
  • Stock and organize linen closets on each floor to ensure housekeeping teams are fully supported
  • Prepare and stage housekeeping carts in accordance with the daily board and assignment sheet
  • Keep public restrooms clean, stocked, and presentable throughout the shift
  • Remove trash from common areas and designated collection points, particularly from the front of the property.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize linens and towels
  • Assist in maintaining a consistent flow of clean linens for room turnover and guest use
  • Respond to guest room service calls as needed (e.g., minor maintenance requests)
  • Provide short-term coverage for front desk when the solo agent must respond to in-room guest calls, ensuring that the lobby is not left unattended
  • Support completion of assigned housekeeping or maintenance projects as directed by management
  • Other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in housekeeping, laundry, or light maintenance preferred

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Dependability and initiative in identifying and addressing property needs
  • Willingness to assist across departments to ensure optimal guest experience

Schedule

The work schedule is based on the demands of the business you must be available days, nights, weekends, and/or holiday availability are required.

Physical, Mental and Environmental & Technical Demands

Fast-paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 250lbs. often for extended periods. Must be able to maneuver around property. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and copier. Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment.

Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/ or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process.
