Job Summary:
Under routine supervision, the Remote Security Coordinator facilitates gate transactions at J.B. Hunt locations that have a Remote Security Operations (RSO) presence. This role is responsible for protecting company assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues. The incumbent creates accurate logs of gate transactions, assists individuals entering/exiting facilities, and reports suspicious activity.
Job Description:
Schedule: Thursday- Saturday and every other Wednesday from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Onsite in Lowell, AR
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess driver-entered data in the Gatekeeper system to identify assignment, maintenance, and/or equipment issues; provide solutions to common problems and document discrepancies and exceptions cleared by the team lead or management
  • Authenticate third-party carrier information and verify outside carriers pulling J.B. Hunt assets to confirm proper assignment
  • Engage with drivers at RSO gates to provide guidance on security procedures for entering and exiting facilities
  • Comply with location-specific remote security procedures to ensure gate transactions involving equipment from key business partners are handled efficiently
  • Live monitor RSO yards, gate complexes, and surrounding areas for suspicious activity; perform regular checks of security equipment (gates, cameras, intercoms) for functionality
  • Regulate and monitor traffic flow at RSO yards to prevent safety hazards, resolve backups, and ensure compliance with operational standards
  • Support and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for security technology and systems
  • Authenticate employment of and train J.B. Hunt personnel on the use of secure PINs and access cards; flag and report observed misuse of credentials, and support ongoing education of security protocols
  • Conduct regular audits of transactions and traffic at RSO facilities; document and report unauthorized bypasses and observed safety incidents
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve general issues, including gate operation failures and system errors

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED with up to 1 year of experience in security, logistics, or related field, and/or suitable combination of education, experience, and training, or military equivalent
  • AND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Interest in learning new technologies/software applications
  • Ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms with accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in safety management
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while dealing with difficult individuals
  • Ability to make independent time-sensitive decisions
  • Ability to work both individually and as a team
  • Ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations to provide excellent service
  • Knowledge of basic employee safety procedures and programs

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
