Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Asset Protection, ensures the safety and security of Supply Chain colleagues and company assets through the management of the Asset Protection Function/Team. They perform other duties as assigned. 

What You Will Do

  • Manage Asset Protection operations in a high-volume Supply Chain Distribution Center to support company profit objectives and customer service goals.
  • Enforce company and asset protection policies to protect and monitor assets, alarms, property, employees, and visitors.
  • Communicate shortage/asset protection issues to Facility management and Supervisors, recommending solutions as needed.
  • Develop and manage direct reports for individual growth and performance excellence while maintaining a Succession Plan.
  • Ensure consistent, thorough, and timely communication with subordinates, peers, and facility/AP senior management.
  • Communicate with facility management and Supply Chain Asset Protection on shortage and security issues, providing recommendations.
  • Develop and execute shortage strategies to positively impact inventory accuracy, shortage results, and sales.
  • Identify causes of shortage, investigating possible internal and/or external dishonest activity.
  • Ensure the security and accuracy of trailers moving in and out of the facility.
  • Manage Asset Protection operations, including staff communications, balancing, work assignments, scheduling, processing, throughput levels, and standards.
  • Assist in budget development, manage to goals, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure departments meet or exceed performance requirements in safety, shortage, cost control, quality, processing standards, flexibility, reliability, customer service, and execution to plan.
  • Maintain standards for compliance with Supply Chain Asset Protection, Macy’s Internal Audits, and legal requirements.
  • Ensure proper operation of all Asset Protection-related systems, including alarms, CCTV, trailer management, identification (if applicable), computer equipment, and physical security.
  • Conduct Asset Protection Risk Analysis and complete Capital Projects as needed.
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain all Macy’s Supply Chain Asset Protection Policies and Procedures.
  • Support coordination with local/municipal, state/provincial, federal law enforcement agencies, and government agencies on criminal cases and/or governmental compliance issues.
  • Lead projects to create or review processes, policies, technologies, and identify cost savings opportunities. 
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Analytical Skills and Project Leadership: Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives. Lead projects for process improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, fostering effective communication and collaboration with diverse groups of customers, peers, and stakeholders.

Resourcefulness and Adaptability: Exhibit resourcefulness and adaptability, effectively navigating and thriving in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.

Who You Are

  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft reports and other communications; present to management and internal and external business partners; interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 50 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
