Responsibilities
Position Overview
Peraton is seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven IT Asset Manager to support a federal government customer in managing enterprise IT asset lifecycle operations across multiple locations and operational environments. This role is responsible for overseeing asset tracking systems, lifecycle governance, inventory accuracy, workflow automation, and reporting processes supporting mission-critical federal IT operations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in IT asset management, inventory control, workflow automation, procurement coordination, and enterprise service management platforms such as Jira and asset management systems. This position requires a collaborative professional capable of improving operational efficiency, maintaining compliance, and ensuring accurate asset accountability across distributed environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead deployment, administration, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT asset tracking systems supporting more than 2,500 technology assets across multiple locations and operational environments.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise asset management processes governing the full asset lifecycle including procurement, deployment, assignment, transfer, maintenance, refresh, and disposal activities.
  • Partner with system administrators and engineering teams to design and maintain asset management schemas, workflows, and ticketing integrations supporting accurate asset tracking and operational visibility.
  • Configure and optimize Jira-based asset tracking workflows and automation processes to streamline lifecycle management, reduce manual effort, and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Implement process automation within Jira and related IT service management platforms to support asset intake, approvals, transfers, audits, refresh cycles, and decommissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with federal asset accountability, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with procurement, finance, and IT leadership teams to support purchasing strategies, asset standardization initiatives, and cost optimization efforts.
  • Partner with infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and desktop support teams to ensure timely asset deployment, recovery, and reconciliation activities.
  • Conduct periodic asset audits, inventory reconciliation activities, and compliance reviews across multiple operational sites and environments.
  • Develop operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting processes to provide visibility into asset utilization, lifecycle status, inventory trends, and operational performance.
  • Support asset forecasting, lifecycle planning, hardware refresh initiatives, and capacity management activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce overhead costs, and standardize asset management processes across the organization.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior analysts and support personnel responsible for inventory tracking, reporting, and operational support functions.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), asset management documentation, workflow diagrams, and governance processes.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, cybersecurity requirements, configuration management standards, and federal compliance regulations.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience, Master's with 3 years experience, PhD with 0 years experience, HS Diploma with 9 years experience
  • Experience managing enterprise asset tracking systems supporting distributed operational environments.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Jira Service Management (JSM)
    • Asset management platforms
    • Workflow automation
    • Inventory tracking systems
    • Ticketing systems
  • Experience designing or maintaining asset management schemas, lifecycle workflows, and reporting processes.
  • Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle management principles and operational governance.
  • Experience supporting procurement coordination, asset forecasting, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and operational metrics for leadership and compliance purposes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
  • Active TS/SCI or Q/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • ITIL Foundation certification or related service management certification.
  • Experience with:

Target Salary Range
$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
