As a Commercial Asset Associate (Small Business Administration Claims Specialist) within PNC's Commercial Asset Team (CAT) organization, you will be based in Indianapolis, IN.
The SBA Specialist serves as the primary point of contact between the Bank and the Small Business Administration (SBA), managing delinquent and liquidating SBA loans to ensure compliance, accurate reporting, and preservation of loan guarantees. This role oversees the SBA guarantee purchase process, works closely with relationship managers and the SBA to maximize recoveries, and supports loans through liquidation and charge-off. The specialist also maintains detailed tracking and reporting of all submitted and purchased loans, ensuring timely follow-up, payment application, and adherence to SBA requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage delinquent SBA loans, maintain SBA reporting and records, process liquidation activities, and serve as the primary SBA liaison.
Prepare and submit SBA guarantee purchase packages, research supporting documentation, negotiate guarantee purchases, and coordinate loan charge-off activities.
Maintain expertise in SBA lending programs, servicing requirements, liquidation procedures, SOP guidelines, and bankruptcy processes.
Track loan activity from submission through final resolution, monitor outstanding SBA payments, and ensure accurate internal reporting and compliance.PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance.   • Administers small-level-risk to mid-level-risk transactions for clients with the goal of minimizing losses and optimizing resolutions.

  • Gathers financial data, prepares analysis and develops workout strategy and alternatives for a portfolio. Reviews relevant documents and transaction deal structure.

  • Negotiates workout options with customers to reduce risks and losses. Works with internal and external business partners and borrowers to better secure collateral coverage. Adheres to established policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Evaluates an asset or the customer's cash flow, balance sheet, long-term business plans and other relevant financial information.

  • Works with internal and external business partners on negotiations and documentation to mitigate risk.
