Job description

At Bellota Labs, we're building a next-generation iGaming mobile app that brings rich visuals, smooth gameplay, and seamless cross-platform experiences to iOS and Android.
We're looking for a Technical Artist to bridge the gap between artistic vision and technical execution, ensuring that our visuals are both beautiful and performant across devices.
As a Technical Artist, you'll collaborate closely with designers, 3D artists, and frontend engineers to bring assets, effects, and interactions to life in Unity3D. You'll be the key link ensuring that creative assets integrate cleanly, efficiently, and consistently into our real-time engine pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Bridge Art and Engineering: Collaborate with game designers, artists, and engineers to translate visual concepts into optimized, in-engine assets.
  • Asset Integration: Import, configure, and maintain 2D/3D assets, materials, and shaders within Unity3D for mobile and WebGL builds.
  • Performance Optimization: Profile and optimize assets, textures, lighting, and rendering pipelines to maintain high frame rates and minimal memory footprint.
  • Tooling & Automation: Build and maintain Unity editor tools, import scripts, or asset validation pipelines to streamline workflows.
  • Shader and VFX Work: Create and optimize shaders, particle systems, and post-processing effects to enhance visual fidelity.
  • Cross-Platform Support: Ensure asset compatibility and consistent visual quality across iOS, Android, and WebGL platforms.

Core Skills:
  • Strong experience with Unity3D (URP or HDRP) - asset pipelines, materials, lighting, and scene optimization.
  • Proficiency in C# scripting for editor tooling, automation, or runtime integrations.
  • Experience working with 3D modeling tools (Maya, Blender, 3ds Max) and 2D software (Photoshop, Substance Painter).
  • Familiarity with shader authoring (Shader Graph, HLSL, Amplify Shader Editor, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of rendering performance optimization across mobile and WebGL targets.

Technical Competencies:
  • Experience with cross-platform deployment (iOS, Android, WebGL).
  • Knowledge of asset compression, texture atlases, and memory management techniques.
  • Comfort working with source control systems (Git, Perforce) and CI/CD pipelines for Unity projects.
  • Basic familiarity with backend interactions - REST APIs, network calls, and event-driven systems (Go + AWS stack).
  • Understanding of profiling tools (Unity Profiler, Xcode Instruments, Android GPU Inspector).

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across design and engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and eye for detail.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, iterative development environments (Agile/Scrum).
  • Passion for gaming and creating polished, visually engaging player experiences.

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with WebGL performance tuning and lightweight shader optimization.
  • Exposure to multiplayer gameplay systems and client-server synchronization.
  • Experience in procedural asset generation or VFX graph systems.
  • Familiarity with analytics, events, or gameplay telemetry integration.

What You'll Get:
  • The opportunity to define the visual-technical DNA of our new gaming app and contribute to our game development tooling from the ground up.
  • Close collaboration with a seasoned engineering and design team experienced in top-tier games and platforms.
  • Ownership and creative freedom within a supportive, technically strong environment.
  • Competitive compensation, flexible work arrangements, and a chance to help shape the future of social, real-time gaming.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
$170,000 - $225,000 a year
If you are excited to be part of a fast-growing team that is redefining the online gaming experience, we would love to hear from you. Join us at Bellota Labs and help shape the future of gaming innovation!
