Job description

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and hardworking Escrow Processing Officer. The Escrow Processing Officer's primary function is to effectively analyze and organize all necessary documents needed to process closing packages. This role works closely with customers to obtain necessary information and communicates with all parties throughout the transaction to coordinate the closing process.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills and be able to operate in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and strict quality standards.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Determines escrow requirements by verifying buyer, seller, and lender instructions including calling on water, taxes and special assessments.

  • Familiar with state city specific requirements.

  • Closely reviews lender instructions.

  • Obtains clear title by ordering title reports, resolving title defects, satisfying existing liens and encumbrances against property or principles

  • Completes calculations by prorating taxes and interest specific to the purchase agreement

  • Familiarity with seller concessions and has ability to work through a file to obtain funding from lender.

  • Prepares transaction documents by completing forms and statements; collecting and reviewing existing documents.

  • Schedules closings by reviewing title commitment to ensure file is clear to close

  • Respond to inquiries from customers, attorneys, agents and brokers.

  • Provides support to the Escrow Department

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficient with RamQuest Complete Closing Enterprise software and/or similar title insurance software is necessary.

  • Must be intimately familiar with the construction Post-TRID CD, Buyer/Seller documents, Deeds, etc.

  • Understanding of Microsoft Office suite and/or Google apps

  • Familiar with the standard concepts, practices and procedures of the escrow and title process.

  • Detailed oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information.

  • Strong communication, both written and verbal.

  • Financial and documentation skills.

  • Title Agency handles significant business with high producing real estate agents and mortgage professionals, so you must have excellent communication skills on all levels within and outside of the organization.

  • Must take pride in quality work and excellent service.

  • Must have a positive outlook.

  • Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.

  • Must be a professional with uncompromising ethics

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of title insurance experience preferred.

  • At least 2 years of escrow processing experience preferred.

  • Strong experience handling purchase transactions is required.

  • Refinance transaction experience is a plus

Location: Livonia, MI or Troy, MI (Training in Livonia, MI)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid available after training

Compensation: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
