How can assertiveness benefit professionals in leadership roles, and what challenges might they face in balancing assertiveness with team collaboration?

Assertiveness is a valuable trait for leaders, enabling clear communication, confident decision-making, and the ability to set boundaries. However, leaders must balance assertiveness with empathy and active listening to foster trust and collaboration within their teams. A common challenge is ensuring that assertive behavior does not come across as aggressive or dismissive, which can hinder team morale. Successful leaders regularly seek feedback and adapt their approach to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Being assertive at work means expressing your thoughts, feelings, and needs openly and honestly while respecting others.
