Job description

POSITION PURPOSE: To perform a variety of operations including electrical assembly, testing, installing, soldering, and/or other operations required for completion of product, using mechanical and manual tools in a manner which will consistently meet production standards and quality requirements. Electrical assembly must include the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and create solutions to problems that arise. To assemble simple and/or complex units consisting of small to large numbers of component parts in a manner which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards. Operate and program laser marking machines utilizing coreldraw.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Complete any mechanical, electrical, and complex assembly, including adjusting, fitting, and aligning of components.
  • Run production parts on laser markers
  • Complete installation, inspection and testing of completed work.
  • Decipher basic and electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to complete basic solvent welding.
  • Ability to prep wires for electrical assembly โ€“ including stripping, soldering, crimping, splicing, etc.
  • Uses a wide variety of mechanical/manual tools and operating procedures to finish parts.
  • Uses measuring instruments, i.e., hand micโ€™s, to ensure correct tolerances are met.
  • Performs required testing, diagnosing and rework of assemblies as customer requires.
  • Complete and update necessary paperwork and documentation. Data entry into company systems.
  • Willingness to train others in all areas of the department.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely and complies with all established safety rules and work practices.
  • Complies with Company, Department, and Section policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Keeps Supervisor informed of job relate problems and other information related to work activity.
  • Maintains a positive work attitude and promotes a โ€œteamโ€ approach throughout the department.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Ability to read basic tolerances and simple dimensions on blueprints and use measuring instruments.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least 1 to 2 years of Electrical & Mechanical Assembly experience โ€“ one who can diagnose, troubleshoot, and create solutions to problems that arise.

Prefer some experience with IPC 610 & 620 standards.

SKILLS ABILITIES: Good manual dexterity skills, hand-eye coordination, etc. Ability to maintain a high concentration level while doing repetitive work. Display a positive attitude.
