Job description

Position: Team Leader
Location: New Albany, OH
Department: Assembly
Reports to: Production Manager
Shift: Second Shift: Monday - Friday, 1:30p-10:00pm
JOB SUMMARY
This production floor position is responsible for leading daily operations of the Assembly Department operations. Leads the activities of other employees through technical knowledge, experience, and sound decision-making abilities to support product quality and ensure customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Leads day-to-day activities and communications within the department
  • Trains and develops departmental team and leads employees in Continuous Improvement Programs.
  • Responsible for the training and development of all new hires and temporary employees.
  • Supervises work output and effectiveness for team members.
  • Ensures accurate training of employees in proper job performance and expectations.
  • Partners with cross-functional team. Responds to Production Operations and Quality Control to ensure product output meets throughput and quality standards set forth by Operations and Quality management.
  • Document the progress of new employees and assist the Assembly Production Manager in the 90-day evaluations for these employees.
  • Observes the progress and performance of all operators, material handlers, and printer packers to assist the Assembly Production Manager in the evaluation of these employees; Makes recommendations based on performance.
  • Track and post daily departmental metrics as established by Plant Management.
  • Ensure inventory of departmental PPE is adequate to perform regular production.
  • Assist with any other duties and projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • One-year prior leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Computer proficient-Microsoft Windows based computer operation.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice or on weekends.
  • Ability to do shift work as necessary.

COMPENSATION: From $19.50/hour, depending on experience
