Job description

About Us

We are a tight-knit, growing small business dedicated to delivering top-quality, custom-built mattresses directly to our customers. Because we operate as a small shop, every member of our team plays a critical role in our day-to-day success. We take pride in craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and maintaining a supportive, hands-on team environment.

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined Assembly & Warehouse Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will handle the physical assembly of mattresses, operate light shop machinery, and manage incoming and outgoing shipments.

This is a fast-paced, highly physical position suited for someone who enjoys active work, possesses solid mechanical aptitude, and thrives in a small-business setting where versatility is valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mattress Assembly & Production:

    • Assemble mattresses using foam, coils, and fabrics.

    • Operate and maintain assembly tools, staple guns, compressed air lines, and light production machinery safely and efficiently.

    • Perform quality-control checks on finished goods to ensure high standards before packaging.

  • Shipping & Receiving:

    • Package, wrap, and box finished products securely for transport.

    • Load and unload delivery trucks safely.

    • Inspect incoming raw materials for quality and record inventory counts accurately.

    • Generate shipping labels and coordinate with freight and ground carriers.

  • Warehouse & Operations Support:

    • Keep production areas, workstations, and inventory racks clean, organized, and safe.

    • Assist with periodic inventory audits and raw material stock monitoring.

    • Collaborate with team members to resolve production bottlenecks and refine assembly workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Physical Capability: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and stretch for the duration of an 8-hour shift.

  • Lifting Ability: Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing at least 50 lbs independently.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Comfort working with basic hand tools, pneumatic machinery, and troubleshooting minor equipment issues.

  • Work Ethic: High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a dependable attendance record.

  • Team Mindset: Willingness to jump in on various warehouse tasks as needed in a small team setting.

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in assembly, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing is preferred but not required.
