About the role you're considering

Capgemini is seeking Industrial Engineers to support the A320 Final Assembly Line (FAL) and Completion Operations in Mobile, Alabama.

This role is focused on ensuring aircraft progress efficiently from Business Unit 3 (Final Assembly Line) through the Completion phase by driving operational performance, reducing Outstanding Work (OSW), supporting line balancing activities, and maintaining adherence to production schedules.

The Industrial Engineer will work closely with Aircraft Managers (ACMs), Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations leaders to monitor aircraft status by MSN (Manufacturer Serial Number), identify risks to schedule attainment, drive recovery actions, and support the Operating System deployment and operational routines.

The successful candidate will act as the operational "drumbeat" for aircraft flow, ensuring visibility of constraints, Non-Conformities (NCs), resource imbalances, and outstanding work that may impact delivery commitments.

Your role
  • Monitor and manage aircraft progression from Business Unit 3 through Completion operations, ensuring alignment with takt planning and delivery milestones.

  • Identify production bottlenecks, schedule risks, and flow disruptions, while driving mitigation and recovery plans to maintain delivery objectives.

  • Analyze workload distribution, resource utilization, and operational efficiency across production stations to support line balancing and optimize production flow.

  • Evaluate the impact of Non-Conformities (NCs), disruptions, and rework on production schedules and assess downstream effects on aircraft completion and delivery.

  • Utilize Airbus production systems, Skywise reporting tools, and operational dashboards to monitor aircraft performance, analyze production metrics, and recommend improvements.

  • Drive data-driven problem solving, continuous improvement initiatives, and implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Airbus Operating System (AOS) principles.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Production Leadership, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Logistics, and Aircraft Managers to ensure aircraft-level coordination and timely issue resolution.

 
Your skills and experience

Experience: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering 
  • 3+ years of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production planning, operations, aerospace manufacturing, or operational excellence experience.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing or assembly operations.
  • Experience with production planning, capacity analysis, or line balancing activities.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is:  $68,911.00 - $161,544.00.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
