Job Title: Mechanical AssemblerJob DescriptionThe Mechanical Assembler builds and repairs tank equipment and related components by performing mechanical assembly, wiring, and conduit work in a clean, organized manufacturing environment. This role reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and schedules, gathers materials from storage, and ensures all assemblies meet design criteria. The Mechanical Assembler also maintains an orderly work area, keeps tools organized, and documents maintenance needs through work orders.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of tank equipment and related components using basic hand and power tools.
- Complete wiring and conduit work as part of the assembly process.
- Carry out repairs on units, parts, and materials as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to assemble products to specification.
- Understand and follow production schedules and workflow requirements to meet deadlines.
- Retrieve and stage materials from storage areas for assembly tasks.
- Inspect assemblies to verify conformance to design criteria and quality standards.
- Identify defects or issues and communicate or correct them in a timely manner.
- Keep tools organized and maintain an orderly, safe work area.
- Write and submit maintenance work orders when equipment or tools require service.
- Collaborate with a large team of assemblers across multiple shifts to support production goals.
Essential Skills- At least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience using basic hand and power tools.
- At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Ability to read and understand schematics for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems as they relate to assembly work.
- Ability to follow schedules, workflow requirements, and written work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure assemblies meet design criteria and quality standards.
- Ability to keep tools and work area organized and maintain a clean, safe workstation.
- Capability to write clear and accurate maintenance work orders.
- Comfort using common hand tools and general labor skills in an industrial setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 1 or more years of experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems (preferred, not required).
- Familiarity with industrial or manufacturing environments and assembly line operations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a large team of assemblers across multiple shifts.
- Willingness to work second or third shift and occasional overtime on Saturdays.
- Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting assembly and repair issues.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and maintenance personnel.

Work Environment
This role is based in a large, very clean, and well-organized manufacturing facility. The standard shifts include second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with initial training on first shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) for approximately 2 to 6 months. Overtime typically occurs every other Saturday, and Sundays are never mandatory. Each shift includes a team of around 60 assemblers, fostering a collaborative, high-volume production environment. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes, jeans, and safety glasses to ensure safety on the production floor. The facility supports mechanical assembly work with appropriate tools and equipment, providing a structured and organized setting for consistent, high-quality production.
