Position Summary:

The RMA Warranty Technician I collaborates with Customer Service, Product Line Management, Design Engineering, and Quality Teams to process, inspect, disposition, and report on customer returns. This position may also assist with general customer service follow-up, live fire testing, production, receiving and shipping.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support fully inspection, disposition, data recording, receiving, and shipping on product returns.
  • Provide technical assistance and issue resolution on SIG SAUER Electro-Optic products while creating a win/win scenario for both the customer and SIG SAUER.
  • Enter warranty and order info into Oracle and/or Access databases and inform. customer of repair processes, receiving, and shipping date projections as needed.
  • Answer incoming internal and external e-mails on product inquires and to process warranty claims and/or requests for replacement parts.
  • Perform work orders to transition finished goods to UD or -R useable/sellable part numbers.
  • Facilitate the Oregon Depot Repair Scrap Process.
  • Support live fire testing upon completion of compliance requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with Quality, Product Line Management, and Design Engineer, and Quality personnel when trends or new product complaints/defects arise.

Education/Experience & Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 2-3+ years of experience in Technical / Customer Service or a Customer-Focused Sales environment. Practical experience in production and/or assembly will be considered
  • Must have solid firearms knowledge or demonstrated aptitude. military experience a plus
  • Must have working knowledge of hunting practices, shooting sports, ballistics, sports optics, and rifle scope applications.
  • Must be familiar with binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes, red-dot sights, and rangefinders.
  • In-depth knowledge of customer service principles and best practices required.
  • Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications required.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work with little supervision, be self-motivated, and maintain strong work ethic.
  • Ability to be flexible to take on additional tasks as requested.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
  • Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
  • The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
  • Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts.
  • Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
