Position Summary

The Assembler uses blueprints and hand tools to build conveyor products.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:ย 

  • Performingย assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructionsย 
  • Following supervisorsโ€™ instructions of work to be performedย 
  • Self-inspecting work to insure quality and compliance to specificationsย 
  • Using computer to record assembly statusย 
  • Following safety instructions and rulesย 
  • Working overtime and assigned shifts as neededย 
  • Employees are responsibleto complywith all requirements ofDaifuku'sQMS policies and procedures.ย 
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.ย 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High Schooldiplomaor equivalentpreferredย 
  • Minimumof 1year ofmachine assemblyexperienceย 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand complex blueprints and assembly drawingsย 
  • Basic computer knowledgeย 
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge of hand tools and power toolsย 
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniquesย 
  • Self-motivated and detail-orientedย 
  • Team orientationย 
  • Crane operation experience preferred but not required
  • Forklift operation experience preferred but not requiredย 
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

ADA Requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
  • Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
