Assembly Fitter

Location: New Iberia, Louisiana

Join the Encore Team

Encore Oilfield Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Assembly Fitter to join our manufacturing team in New Iberia, Louisiana. This position is responsible for laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting structural and mechanical components together prior to welding and final assembly of natural gas compression equipment.

The ideal candidate has experience reading blueprints, P&IDs, and isometric drawings, can accurately calculate measurements, and takes pride in producing safe, high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Plan and identify the proper sequence of operations for assembly and fabrication activities.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit structural and mechanical components prior to welding.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and ISO/isometric drawings.
  • Read and accurately use a tape measure and perform measurement calculations.
  • Locate and mark centerlines and reference points on floors, face blocks, and workpieces.
  • Move and position parts and components for assembly.
  • Align components to ensure proper fit-up and dimensional accuracy.
  • Remove high spots, cut bevels, and prepare components for welding.
  • Position and secure braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps, and other fixtures as needed.
  • Assist with rigging and positioning large assemblies and equipment.
  • Use transit equipment to locate reference points and assist with large assembly layouts.
  • Erect and safely use ladders and scaffolding as required.
  • Safely operate grinders, overhead cranes, rigging equipment, pipe threading machines, and various hand tools.
  • Assist with preparing, setting, and leveling skids and piping.
  • Assist with installing piping, vessels, bottles, and other major components.
  • Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Promote safety, productivity, teamwork, and a positive attitude within the Assembly team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum of two years of directly related assembly, fitting, fabrication, or industrial experience.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and calculate measurements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and ISO/isometric drawings.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
Preferred
  • Experience assembling natural gas compression equipment or industrial skids.
  • Experience with piping, structural components, vessels, and mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with ANSI flange, bolt, and gasket sizes and ratings.
  • Basic knowledge of pipe threading equipment.
  • Previous experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand and use hands for handling, gripping, and manipulating tools and materials.

Work Environment

This position is based in Encore's New Iberia, Louisiana manufacturing facility. Employees work in a fast-paced industrial environment assembling natural gas compression equipment, skids, piping, vessels, and related components. The position requires regular interaction with fabrication, welding, mechanical, and other production teams.
