Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

*Employer: Pro Services | Work Site: LaPorte, IN | Pay: Starting at $34.00/hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is employed by Pro Services and assigned to support our customer's facility in LaPorte, IN. We're looking for a well-rounded, multi-craft industrial maintenance technician with 3+ years of hands-on experience across electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and instrumentation & controls. This role is responsible for the daily maintenance, installation, dismantlement, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment to keep the facility running safely and reliably.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and repairs to ensure all equipment continues to run effectively and facility systems operate efficiently and reliably.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic machinery, combustion systems, and electrical/electronic equipment.

  • Install, assemble, rebuild, and repair all types of equipment, and support all facility infrastructure.

  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment.

  • Participate in projects and planning events; interface with suppliers and lead contracting activities; use a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Identify, specify, and use spare and replacement parts.

  • Participate in and actively support all required training, EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), Human Performance, and company/department objectives.

  • Availability for shift and weekend work is required, including holiday and emergency coverage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • 3+ years of maintenance technician experience across all core areas of industrial maintenance: electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and instrumentation & controls.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified at time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position involves access to export-controlled items; employment is conditioned on the applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

  • Must possess reading, writing, and basic math skills.

  • Ability to understand precision measuring instruments, electrical/electronic testing devices, drawings and schematics, equipment user manuals, and task instructions.

  • Basic computer skills; advanced skills are a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in clean environments is a plus.

  • Experience with vacuum systems is an asset (including ultra-high vacuum systems).

  • Formal PLC training and/or extensive hands-on PLC experience.

  • Experience with man lifts (scissor and boom) and forklifts is an asset.
