Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Asphalt Paving Foreman to lead our paving crews on highway and civil infrastructure projects. In this role, you will take ownership of daily field operations, ensure high-quality asphalt laydown, and help deliver some of the most visible and impactful projects in the region. Your leadership will directly influence crew performance, safety, productivity, and project success.

Reports to: Asphalt Paving Superintendent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the asphalt paving crew.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of paving equipment for smooth, consistent, and aligned asphalt laydown.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Calculate daily project budget based on crew and equipment size.
  • Accurately calculate and order daily asphalt tonnage and truck counts.
  • Utilize software to accurately report time and daily quantities.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, operations team, asphalt plants, trucking, and crew members.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily work activities, materials used, and crew hours.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Hold daily safety meetings with assigned crew including weekly toolbox talks. Ensure crew members are completing all safety tasks assigned to them.
  • Assist with light mechanical adjustments and troubleshooting of paving equipment.
  • Train and mentor crew members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in asphalt paving operations.
  • Strong knowledge of paving equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel and work out of town when required.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Capable of climbing on and off heavy equipment safely.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
  • Traveling within Oklahoma and North Texas is required. Per diem will be provided for jobs outside the hired working area.
