Job description

Mount Aloysius College, repeatedly recognized by ModernThink as a "Great College to Work For," invites applications from highly qualified individuals to join our leadership team in the School of Nursing as the ASN Chairperson beginning August 2026/Fall 2026 in DuBois, PA.
Current Opening
Reporting to the Dean of Nursing, the ASN Chairperson provides departmental oversight and clinical coordination of the College's Associate of Science in Nursing program, based in DuBois, PA. This position is responsible to ensure that the ASN (DuBois) program's curriculum and outcomes align with the guidelines of Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the PA State Board of Nursing. This includes modeling good instruction, including integration of technology, development of quality course syllabi, establishing policy and procedures within the program, and assisting others within the ASN program with these matters. This position also holds teaching responsibilities within the ASN program.
This open faculty position offers a regular, full-time 10-month appointment from August - May, with additional required workdays during the summer at the beginning and end of the core academic year. The ASN Chairperson is responsible for a workload of 24 credits or equivalent, which includes a 9-credit release for administrative duties, per academic year, and supervises all full-time and part-time faculty assigned to the ASN Program in DuBois.
Faculty are expected to have a regular presence on campus (5 days per week required) to engage with students both inside and outside of the classroom. In addition to teaching, the ASN Chairperson is responsible to lead departmental initiatives, recruit and mentor adjunct faculty, and assure courses are properly resourced with appropriate academic quality and rigor. Also participates in department meetings, committee work, advises students academically, holds regular office hours, and assists with College events, service to the College, and other activities.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required. Doctorate preferred (PhD, DNP, EdD) earned or in final semester/ABD with pending graduation date. Two (2) to three (3) years of leadership experience in nursing education administration required. Prior classroom and clinical teaching experience at the collegiate level required. Valid, unencumbered license as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse in Pennsylvania required. Minimum 3-4 years of nursing experience, with at least two years in behavioral health nursing and a demonstrated ability to perform at a high level is required.
A strong student focus is required, with the ability to relay information effectively. Excellent oral and written communication skills are expected. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate the ability to prioritize, multitask, maintain attention to detail orientation, and excel in a fast-paced, high volume office. High degree of professionalism and a demonstrated ability to maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality is required.
Proficiency in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising also preferred. Faculty rank is dependent upon education, experience and credentials.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.

Mount Aloysius College is bringing nursing education to DuBois beginning Fall 2026! Students can complete pre-nursing coursework this fall, and begin their path toward a rewarding healthcare career close to home with a two year associates degree. Through a new collaboration with Penn Highlands Healthcare, eligible nursing students may receive up to $48,000 in combined financial support, along with hands-on clinical opportunities and pathways to employment after graduation.
