About the Role
We are looking to add an ASIC Technician to our growing Operations department. As an ASIC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, deploying, diagnosing, (minor) repairs, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring its optimal performance. The individual will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion. This position will directly support our datacenter operations at our Calvert City, Kentucky mining locations. It is a fully onsite role. The scheduled shift for this role is Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
What you'll be doing
  • Assist with preparing, maintaining, and deploying ASIC miners, including constructing, installing, and managing cable layouts for server racks
  • Install networked peripheral devices and networking hardware products for ASIC miners
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex ASIC miner issues, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions
  • Conduct additional troubleshooting methods on ASIC miners in support of research and development efforts
  • Perform routine upkeep tasks such as air filter replacement and other preventative maintenance for ASIC miners
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of all ASIC miners, hash boards, control boards, and network switches, and accurately document hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal
  • Liaise with, and provide training and support to, staff and coworkers on ASIC operation and related issues
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future hardware needs with the Site Manager

What you'll have
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where manual labor will be necessary during deployment days and initial setup of facility.
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
  • Ability to conduct research into hardware issues as required.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas in clear, user-friendly language
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • A+, Network+ certifications are optional but a plus.

Physical requirements and work environment
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders and access tight or awkward spaces as required.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and pull, with good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (50 pounds)
  • Ability to work onsite in a mining or data center environment (heat, noise, etc.)
  • Exposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures
