Executive Chef

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Cuisine: Modern Chinese Fusion

Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $120,000–$130,000 base salary + bonus

Relocation Assistance: Case by Case


Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and systems-driven Executive Chef to lead the culinary program for a high-volume, modern Chinese-fusion restaurant in Los Angeles, CA. This role requires a leader who thrives in fast-paced, multi-channel operations while maintaining exceptional standards of quality, consistency, and operational discipline.


The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of culinary expertise, operational structure, and team leadership, with the ability to build scalable systems and deliver consistently excellent food in a high-demand environment. This role is geared towards growth into a multi-unit/corporate development position.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Discipline

  • Maintain tight control over food cost, waste, and inventory systems
  • Build and enforce prep systems, pars, and ordering processes
  • Develop clear SOPs, training materials, and recipe documentation to ensure scalability
  • Drive consistency across all shifts through strong communication and systems

Culinary Execution

  • Demonstrate strong command of modern Asian American cuisine and flavor profiles
  • Execute and refine a menu of classic dishes with precision and consistency
  • Ensure food quality holds through packaging, transport, and delivery timing
  • Design and implement high-volume takeout and delivery workflows
  • Collaborate with leadership to contribute new ideas and menu innovation

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing BOH team
  • Build a culture of accountability, speed, respect, and consistency
  • Train staff on systems, cleanliness standards, and execution expectations
  • Identify and mentor future kitchen leaders

Kitchen Cleanliness, Organization & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce strict standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all kitchen areas
  • Ensure full compliance with health department regulations and food safety standards
  • Implement cleaning schedules, station organization systems, and audit protocols
  • Maintain an “inspection-ready” kitchen at all times


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Kitchen Leader in a high-volume environment
  • Strong understanding of Asian American cuisine
  • Demonstrated success in building systems, SOPs, and scalable kitchen operations
  • Strong financial acumen including food cost control and inventory management
  • Experience leading and developing large kitchen teams
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-output environment


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $120,000–$130,000
