Job description

Location: NAS Patuxent River, MD

What You'll Do:
We have an opportunity for a highly skilled, former P-8A or EP-3 Naval Flight Officer (NFO) to provide subject matter expertise in support of NAVAIR's Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office, PMA-290. This position will be based at NAS Patuxent River, MD.
Key responsibilities as an NFO supporting the Increment 3 (Inc3) program:
  • Advise PMA-290 leadership on the integration and testing of Inc3 combat systems-including mission systems, sensors, environmental systems, and mission planning tools.
  • Apply expert knowledge of current Inc3 capabilities, including Minotaur mission software.
  • Operate P-8A Inc3 systems in lab environments to support system integration and testing goals.
  • Analyze and report on combat system performance, providing written and verbal briefings as needed.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance P-8A Inc3 performance across key mission areas: ASW, ASuW, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) support, and ISR.
  • Support the development and delivery of training materials, potentially including instruction for Integrated Test Teams (ITT).
  • This position will require occasional travel.

What You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of operational experience as a P-8A or EP-3 NFO.
  • Strong understanding of maritime patrol mission systems, including recent software and hardware updates.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, solve problems, and develop actionable recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with engineering software tools and/or systems integration testing.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes.

Salary Range:
  • The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $120,000-$145,000, commensurate with an individual's experience, qualifications, and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation.
