Medical Technologist

Credential: MT: Medical Technologist ASCP/AMT/AAB

Equivalent Experience: Must hold and maintain an active, national certification in the field of medical laboratory sciences or technology within 12 months of hire or transfer through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB). It is preferred the first attempt occurs within 3 months of hire. Other certifications issued by ASCP, AMT, or AAB that are not listed above may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the specific area of specialization and the expertise required to meet operational and clinical needs. Candidates holding ASCPi certification are considered equivalent to ASCP certification for international applicants. Individuals hired with ASCPi certification are not required to obtain ASCP certification thereafter, provided they maintain active certification and meet all competency and regulatory requirements.
