Summary of Function
The Sanders Unified School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Culinary Arts Teacher to inspire and educate students in the art of cooking and food management. The successful candidate will demonstrate a profound knowledge of culinary techniques, nutrition, and kitchen management, along with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Qualifications include:
? Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card - required.
? Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, Hospitality Management, Education, or a related field, Master's
(preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification or ability to obtain certification in Arizona.
  • Proven experience working in a professional culinary environment; teaching experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster enthusiasm for culinary arts.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and nutrition.
    Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with state standards and meets the diverse needs of students.
  • Teach students various culinary techniques, food safety and sanitation practices, nutrition principles, menu planning, and kitchen management skills
  • Create engaging lesson plans and hands-on cooking experiences that stimulate student learning and encourage student participation.
  • Assess student performance through a combination of written assignments, practical skills assessments, and projects.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and community stakeholders to enhance the culinary arts program and create opportunities for experiential learning, such as field trips, externships, and competitions.
  • Maintain an organized and safe kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
