OVERVIEW

Wolters Kluwer, UpToDate and Lexidrug is seeking experienced clinicians to join our team as Clinical Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategists. This role is central to advancing the clinical reasoning framework that underpins our next generation of trustworthy, clinically intelligent AI systems. You will work cross-functionally to evolve and operationalize this framework across AI architecture, system validation, and clinical workflows, ensuring outputs remain clinically sound and faithful to our trusted content.

You will help shape the future of clinical decision support by combining deep expertise in clinical reasoning with strong technical fluency and communication skills. Working across Clinical AI, Product, Engineering, Editorial, and Design, you will translate clinical thinking into scalable AI capabilities that meaningfully support patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical AI Strategy & Development (80%-100%)

  • Serve as the clinical lead on our clinical reasoning framework, guiding its continued advancement and application across AI initiatives.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Editorial, and AI teams to translate clinical reasoning into scalable AI system capabilities.
  • Define and maintain clinical indices, decision pathways, reasoning frameworks, and evaluation approaches that reflect real-world clinical decision making across specialties.
  • Contribute to clinical validation platform development, including development of clinical test sets, reasoning benchmarks, red teaming protocols, safety evaluations, and ongoing expert review to ensure outputs remain clinically faithful, useful, and meaningful.
  • Translate clinician and customer feedback into improvements in AI system behavior and the continued evolution of the clinical reasoning framework.
  • Serve as a clinical liaison between the Clinical AI team and traditional editorial operations, helping align clinical standards, workflows, and content strategy.
  • Communicate effectively across clinical, technical, and business teams, translating complex clinical concepts into practical system requirements and technical concepts into clinically meaningful guidance.
  • Represent Wolters Kluwer externally through white papers, conference presentations, and thought leadership.

Clinical Practice (optional - up to 20%)

Clinicians may allocate time to maintain active clinical practice, ensuring continued relevance and real-world insight; existing clinical stipend for physician editors will continue to apply.
