Job description

Quality Engineer

At ReLogic Research, you won't be just another headcount. We're a tight-knit team of engineers, physicists, and technical professionals solving complex challenges in national defense - and we're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Engineer who takes pride in getting it right the first time.

As an AS9100D-certified small business supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Missile Defense Agency, we operate in a highly regulated environment where quality isn't an afterthought - it's built into everything we do. This is an opportunity to grow a quality career in a fast-moving defense manufacturing environment with real ownership and visibility across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the company Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100D
  • Review and interpret quality requirements from customer drawings, contracts, and purchase orders and provide technical input on quality flowdowns to operations and manufacturing
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation and coordination
  • Interface with customer quality representatives on quality submittals and non-conformances
  • Support internal and external audits including AS9100D surveillance and customer source inspections
  • Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Track and manage non-conformances, corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Support root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations and effectiveness verification
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure quality requirements are understood and implemented on the shop floor
  • Work closely with the Quality Technician to ensure inspection activities are properly documented and traceable

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or technical role - or equivalent education and experience
  • Familiarity with quality management systems or quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, business, or related field
  • Familiarity with AS9100D quality management requirements
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation
  • Experience with CAPA and RCCA processes
  • Experience interfacing with government or defense customer quality representatives
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with CMM and 3D scanning inspection methods and how results are interpreted against engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, kaizen, or quality management systems as practiced in precision manufacturing or automotive environments - experience with Japanese manufacturing methodologies or companies operating under these principles is a plus
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQT, or similar) a plus

This is a full-time salaried position with highly competitive compensation based on experience and skills, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth.
