Studio Art Teacher - Part-Time - Middletown, NJ

Join One River School of Art + Design to teach and mentor motivated adult students, work alongside practicing artists in a creative community, and grow with a team that invests in your development—from day one.

What you’ll do:
  1. Teach Art and / or Procreate Classes: Teach weekly museum quality art and / or digital art classes for adults of all levels and using a wide variety of media

  2. Ensure Student Success: Ensure student success in the studio and lab by actively engaging with students and teachers to observe, document and communicate their progress and opportunities for growth

  3. Implement One River Methodology Curriculum: Implement the One River Method through each class effectively. All teachers have the opportunity to contribute to lesson plan development and are paid extra for doing so

  4. Run a best-in-class studio: Clean and organize studio spaces and student artwork and / or oversee digital lab maintenance

  5. Student Exhibitions: Direct your students to produce high quality work for their exhibitions in January and June. Keep track of their progress to ensure the exhibition work is completed on time for each show.

Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience

  • 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for adults. Procreate art skills are a plus.

  • Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.

  • Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment

  • Passion for art history, contemporary art and a “students-first” mindset

  • This is a Part time Position with evening and weekend teaching hours - Tuesday Afternoons and Evenings and Thursday Mornings.
