Position Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and supervising maintenance tasks performed on facilities, offices, and equipment. Maintains production and office equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime. Effectively utilizes an outsourcing network as required to meet organizational requirements. Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance programs and procedures. Oversees mechanics/technicians who repair and maintain equipment. Administers training programs to ensure proper operations, preventive maintenance, and repair programs and procedures. Maintains inventory of spare parts. Typically requires technical training (see technical skills below) and six years of experience, including supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Works with outside contractors as required to provide facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Negotiate buying, selling, and trade- in values of new and old equipment.
  • Engage with outside vendors for outsourcing of production when equipment is down for an extended period of time.
  • Develops an outsource network and knowing when to outsource are key requirements of this position- i.e., Equipment and office repairs.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Directs employees and/or contractors engaged in maintaining and repairing building utility systems, such as electrical wiring and controls, heating and ventilating systems, boilers, air compressors etc.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
  • Develops, optimizes & implements equipment uptime and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Supports and executes process improvement projects.
  • Leads the team by enforcing and engaging in safety practices, PPE compliance, and other employment policies for employees and outside contractors.
  • Supervises workers (internal and external) engaged in installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical and facility equipment.
  • Leverages maintenance software or other means of scheduling to prepare work schedules and assign work to subordinates, manage maintenance inventory and requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Works closely with production to communicate equipment status and schedule services and/or repairs.
  • Work closely with Prospiant safety team to ensure compliance for all safety initiatives around machines and equipment.
  • Create playbooks/ SOP's around tribal knowledge of repair processes that needs to be documented.
  • Lead all 5 why, root cause, and corrective action initiatives regarding missed shipments from down machines.
  • Performs other activities in addition to the above as assigned by leadership
  • Manage and lead a team of maintenance techs.
  • Create a dashboard around key performance indicators around equipment uptime, down equipment, weekly downtime, and preventative maintenance compliance.
  • Provide guidance and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing and motivated workforce.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, diversity, collaboration, and continuous learning, promoting professional development opportunities for employees.
  • Ensure proper usage of ERP systems, including Epicor and Maintain X.
  • Ensure 5S standards in your areas are kept and maintained.

Position Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Facilities
  • 5+ Years in facility and equipment maintenance
